The workshop is at the Glass Clouds Residency House (Building 14, Nolan Park) – a beautiful arts space in a historic house on Governors Island.
Governors Island is only a 5-min ferry from downtown Manhattan. We’ll meet at the ferry building (10 South St.) and take the ferry together.
Accessibility note: the workshop venue is a 7-min walk from the ferry on a cobblestone path, and there are several steps outside the house and one flight of stairs indoors. Please let us know if you have any accessibility needs, and we’ll be happy to talk about possible accommodations!

The day will include multiple rehearsal/coaching sessions, interspersed with breaks to relax in the house and surrounding park.
Typical schedule:
9:45am: meet at the Governors Island Ferry Building
10am: ferry to Governors Island
10:30am: refreshments & house tour
11am-12:30pm: rehearsal
12:30-1:30pm: lunch (with short coaches’ concert!)
1:30-3:00pm: rehearsal
3-4pm: break and tour of Nolan Park
4pm: casual sharing session with refreshments

Each chamber music group will rehearse and play with 1-2 Glass Clouds Ensemble coaches, Juilliard-trained chamber music professionals who are passionate about chamber music and teaching!

Our workshops are for adult amateur musicians of any age and experience level, from beginner to advanced. We will assign you to a group that best matches your interests and experience.
We focus on string chamber music, but all instruments are welcome to apply! We unfortunately do not have a piano onsite, so we’re unable to accept pianists at this time.
This workshop is for you if you’re interested in an immersive weekend activity filled with lively chamber music in a friendly environment, with ample opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Governors Island!

The full cost of the workshop is $300, with a $100 deposit due a month in advance of your workshop date. Ferry tickets, lunch, and refreshments will be provided. We accept payment via check, Zelle, and Paypal.
